Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". 1st Edition, 1st State without the word, 'clean' on dedication page. Basic Texas Books #45. A.C. Greene's 50+ Best Books on Texas. 367 pp. Both book and dust jacket have been professionally restored. Tight copy with tanned paper. Black boards show light corner & spine end wear with very slight fraying. Spine has some vertical creasing, and gilt title and graphic on front board show some rubbing. Gilt print on spine has been rubbed off. There is a little spotting/rubbin on black cloth boards.. Previous owner's name, town, and 'March 1931' on reverse of frontispiece. End papers have map, and rear pasted down paper has a few small notations on top edge and a small stain. Dust jacket has price intact and some light creasing. Excellent restoration of chipping and edgewear. Now in protective cover.
