A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Authentic program from the 1956 Fort Worth Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show. With memorial piece on Amon Carter, Jr., who died June 23, 1955. Carter is pictured on the front cover in the clouds above Amon Carter Square in Fort Worth, astride his horse and alongside his old friend Will Rogers, also horseback. Price 50c on cover. Laid in is 'Today's Program' for Matinee, Sat., Jan. 28th, 1956, and listed among the contestants are 5 time world champion Jim Shoulders and 2 time world champion Casey Tibbs. 56 pp. 8-1/2"WX 10-3/4"H. Stapled binding with light wear on hinge, especially on ends. Corners have light wear, and lightweight wrappers have a little creasing. Sturdy, bright and clean copy.

Wonderful art by Bruno Lore - "Memoirs of Col. Ellis P. Bean", Travis's Letter from the Alamo, "The Adventures of Big-Foot Wallace", The Old Chisholm Trail", "The Log of A Cowboy" , "The Texas Rangers" and from Dobie's own, "Coronado's Children". Oversize format, 9-1/2"W X 12-1/4H" - 528 pp. Blue leatherette padded boards show light edgewear. Page edges have some soiling and tanning. Clean and bright interior with very slight loosening of hinge. Very nice copy of scarce Dobie work.

A.C. Greene was a noted author and editor and well-respected observer of Texas and Dallas in particular. This is his critique of Dallas and a guide to living there. 1st Ed., 1st Ptg. Tight copy with tan cloth boards which show three light damp stains on front board, also reflected on inside dust jacket. They do not affect front of jacket nor interior of book. Slight wear to corners and spine ends. Previous owner's name on front free end paper and a few instances of highlighting of text. Maroon glossy dust jackt shows some rubbing and wrinkling. Wear to folds and edges. A little chipping on edges and one tiny tear on top front edge.

Tan cloth boards with bright gilt title on spine and bright gilt mustang design on front board. Very minor edgewear. Dust jacket is orange with Beeler's illustration, a horse and rider with wild mustangs on front panel. Price remains. Minor edge wear. Tope edge has creasing and tearing/fraying. Corners have light chipping wear. Front has a few small smudges, and rear has a spot or two. Light rubbing on hinges and flap folds. Now in protective cover. A very nice signed copy of a Western classic.

Both vols. are clean, bright and tight in an equally fine slip case, brown with a color plate of one of Berlandier's plant drawing on side.
