A.C. Greene's 50+ Best Books on Texas

A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". We at Texas Star Books try to keep copies from Greene's list on hand. Some are easier to find than others, so we may not have them all. To view his picks, click on the book title. Look for the book, itself in our inventory, too!

Garden City, New York Garden City Publishing 1943 1943 Reprint Hard Cover Good Good-
Dedicated to Gen. Billy Mitchell and written by the founder of the company that became Republic Aviation, Seversky propounds the theory that whoever rules the skies wins the war. This is a wartime copy. and the paper used during homefront conservation has yellowed. There is some moisture staining on the bottom of the pages and a red crayon mark on front free end paper. Tight and sound. Black boards with gilt print on spine still bright. Dust jacket has significant closed tear on front middle and moisture staining on the back which is a plea for War Bonds. There is chipping on corners and edges with loss especially on spine ends. It has been repaired with tape on two places on bottom edge. It is intact and now in a protective cover.
