A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Printed Nov. 1917. Dark blue cloth boards with gilt lettering. loose hinges front and back. Front free end paper and title page have come loose. Yellowed pages with some foxing. No maps in pocket. Slight wear to corners and hinges. Bottom of spine is worn through and top is slightly worn.

Blue boards with gilt print. Has wear along edges, some spotting and spine end wear. Interior has occasional pencil underlining and notes. ffep is missing; front and back hinges are cracked but book is intact. Inscribed on fpdp, "Harvey D. Withers, Sergeant-Major, Taliaferro Field, Hicks, Tex." This was a WWI Aviation training field. 3 maps in back pocket. Very nice and complete copy. Use worn - not shelf worn.
