A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Subtitled, "The Story of William Henry Singleton, Slave and Soldier in the Civil War". Black cloth boards have several instances of edgewear. Spine shows bumping and also wear to cloth at top edge. Bottom page ends have black ink marks and slight soiling, and the top page ends have light spotting. Front free end page has ink price. Dust jacket has chips missing on top and bottom of spine. Chipping on corners, and creasing along edges. Light background shows soiling, rubbing and spotting. Now in protective covering.
