In 1944 20,000 Allied troops invaded Japanese-held Burma - 3,000 of those troops were American, later known as "Merrill's Marauders", and the rest were made up mainly of British soldiers as well as Nigerians, Chinese, Gurkhas and Burmese who came to be called "Chindits". This is their story. Book is tight and clean; spine top has bumping and bottom has a little wear. Dust jacket some dark rubbing shows on front panet on title and on rear light panel. Top of spine has chipping with a 1 3/4" closed tear from top at hinge. Other edges show light creasing and wear. Rubbing wear on flap folds.
