	1	Johnson, Siddie Joe Rabbit Fires Boerne, TX The Highland Press 1951 First Edition Hard Cover Very Good No Dust Jacket Emilie Toepperwein Signed by Author Early children's story from Fredericksburg, Texas, to make the pioneer children less fearful on the night before Easter. When they saw the fires of Indians, the parents told them it was the Easter rabbit's fires. This is a lovely little book, printed on pink and yellow pastel paper with charming illustrations by Emilie Toepperwein. Signed by author and librarian, Siddie Joe Johnson, on front free end paper. End papers have illustration with rabbits all around a fire where they're making dye from Texas wildflowers for Easter eggs. Book has orange boards - oblong, 9"W X 6-1/4H - shows slight warping. Corners show some wear and bumping, and spine ends are slightly bumped. 32 pp. No dust jacket. Price: 50.00 USD
