A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". 1944 Literary Classic Edition. Significant wear and soiling to boards. Spine is darkened with fraying on ends and top is torn about 1" down back. Hinge is cracke at title page but intact. Previous owner's name on front pasted down paper and the top corner is missing from front free end paper. No other marking to interior. Okay reading copy.

Book has bumping and rubbing on light boards and has slight right roll. Front free end paper has "whiteout" spot on top corner, else interior is clean. Pages have yellowed. Dust jacket is now in protective cover and has significant chipping, tearing and creasing. Missing several chips and 1 1/2" portion at bottom of spine and 1/2" deep across top of spine which is darkened. Also a piece 1"X1/2" missing from top of back hinge at spine. White portions of jacket are rubbed and yellowed.

Collection of photos of war correspondent, journalist and GI pal, Ernie Pyle. 1st Ed., 1st ptg. 159 pp. Gray green cloth boards with dark red embossed title on front and spine. Boards have slight discoloration where the jacket has pieces missing. Some corner and spine end bumping with a little fraying where worn. Very bottom edges have some spotting and wear to cloth. Pages are yellowed - interior is clean. Dust jacket is intact in protective covering, but has two significant missing pieces - (1)lower spine has 1 1/2" X 3" piece missing and (2) Top of spine has missing piece from about one inch on front, across spine and onto the back about four inches. Total missing area there is 5 1/2" X 3". Rest of dust jacket has creasing, some spotting, chipping and corner wear.
