A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". 104 pp plus maps -- all intact, though one has a 1 1/4" closed tear. Wartime publication is tight, though paper is age yellowed and a little fragile, with an occasional tear. There is a penciled note on front pasted down paper and occasional underlining. Navy cloth boards have some bumping on corners and spine ends, with a little fraying. Silver print and design is a little dulled and there is a scuffed spot on front board near hinge.

Dust jacket has price intact and is bright with light corner and spine end chipping. Top edges have light tearing as does top rear corner.

Introduction by Len Deighton with 64 pp + photos. Bright red cloth boards show some wear and bumping to corners. Bottom spine has wear on fabric along bottom edge and onto back board about 1" and onto front bottom edge about 1". Back hinge has faint light spotting along crease. There is a very faint darker spot on front board near top corner. Interior has occasional highlighting. Slight weakness at signatures-opens to gutters at places. Dust jacket has light edgewear and creasing at top of spine and along top front edge. Corners slightly bumped. Else bright and colorful.

Bottom page ends have substantial spotting which affects the very bottom of first few pages. Some staining on top page ends which does not affect inside and front page ends have a very small spot or two.
