A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". We at Texas Star Books try to keep copies from Greene's list on hand. Some are easier to find than others, so we may not have them all. To view his picks, click on the book title. Inscribed by the author to a long-time friend, a judge in Ozona, TX. There is a great deal of underlining and associated comments expressing familiarity and knowledge of the subject matter - which could enhance the story for some readers. Previous owner's stamp on both end papers. Book has light bumping to spine and corners. Dust jacket has chipping and creasing along edges and spine. Chipping loss on top of spine about 1". Back cover shows rubbing and slight soiling to white background.

Publication of Indiana Historical Society. 1st Ed., 1st Ptg. Bright, tight, and crisp copy with very light bumping on spine ends. Top and front page ends have slight foxing/spotting. Interior clean. Dust jacket is bright with Thomas Hart Benton illustration on front. Edgewear on folds and a little on hinges. Slight creasing and chipping on edges with a little loss on two corners and on top spine end. Slight tears on bottom or spine and back cover. Overall, a very nice copy.
