A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Salt Lake City, UT The Deseret News 1906 First Edition Soft Cover Good 4to - over 9" - 12" tall 
Large format, 9"W X 11 3/4"H. 64 pp. History of Salt Lake City. Book has stapled binding. Wraps and interior have damp staining, with rear wrap and pages being warped from dampness. Spine area is discolored, as are top and bottom edges with some damp stains. Front bottom forward corner is missing, and spine has some tearing, with bottom 1" chip missing. Rear panel's forward edges have creasing and closed tears. Rear page also has creasing and tearing. Still, book is intact and collectible.

Interior has a few pages with faint smudges - else clean interior. Dust jacket has rubbing on edges and spine. Front panel has red numbers on the photo portion with a small red question mark below with a few red dots. Price sticker residue on upper top corner and there are a few very small spots. Corners have some chipping, and top of spine has chipping with a little loss. Top edge of both front and rear panels has several small closed tear. Now in protective cover.

Slight discoloration in cloth of hinges, rear and front. Light minor corner and spine end wear. Clean interior. Top page edge has foxing, and forward page edge has a spot or two of foxing. Front end paper has penciled in gutter, "Amon Carter Museum, 3-18-73, $12.50 + .63 tax". Laid in is a brochure from the Fort Worth centennial, 1873 - 1973, held at the Amon Carter Museum. Dust jacket shows early Fort Worth scene. It has light chipping on corners, and spine ends show minor shelfwear. Top front edge has two or three small closed tears. Light background shows some rubbing and light spotting.

Rear panel looks as if it had stuck to a surface due to wetness, and there are rubbed white areas, one of which has a 1/4" hole. Light corner and edgewear. Now in protective cover.
