A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". We at Texas Star Books try to keep copies from Greene's list on hand. Some are easier to find than others, so we may not have them all. To view his picks, click on the book title. Adams' Rampaging Herd #29 (bibliography of classic western books)-Dobie's Life/Literature of the SW, p. 95. Tales of the Texas Brush country, South Texas along the Mexican border. 220 pp. Crisp copy with very light wear to tan boards with prickly pear design on front. Inside clean with pages yellowing somewhat on the edges. Dust jacket has chipping with occasional loss on corners and spine ends. 1 1/2" tear on top front of spine down hinge. Top front corner is missing 1/3".

First Edition, First Printing of Haley's classic work - Jenkins' Basic Texas Books #83, Dobie's Guide to Life & Literature of the Southwest. Book is without markings and has clean interior. It has very light right lean and slight edgewear.Pages are somewhat tanned. Dust jacket is in pieces, missing the spine.Front and rear panel are present, with chipping and creasing on edges. Rear flap fold is still attached but barely, and front flap fold is separated but present. The least of its problems is that it is price-clipped. Wish it had been In protective cover earlier, as it is now.

Two previous owner's names, one in pencil, on front free end paper - else clean interior. Page edges are yellowing somewhat. Dust jacket is in tatter, with oly the front cover and two flaps remaining, held together with protective cover.
