A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". An activist in preserving the Big Thicket, and once the mayor of Liberty, TX, the author has signed the front free end paper. Light green paper stock. Bright green boards with bright gilt print on spine. Tight and clean copy with light edge wear on corners and spine ends. Dust jacket has price intact. Spine ends of dust jacket has creasing with some chipping and tearing. Corners show light chipping, and solid green rear panel shows some rubbing, especially on rear flap fold and rear hinge. Now in protective cover.
