A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Nice art and many photos in this local history, "Compiled by Garza County Historical Survey Committee and its History Book Sub-Committee". Oversize format, 8-1/2"W X 10-3/4"H. 340 pp. Tan/gold boards have minor edgewear. Front hinge shows light wear at top, and both boards have one or two very faint dark rubbed marks. Front board has several small white spots, apparently tiny scuffs. Bottom board edges show light wear, and bottom page edge has corner shelf-soiling. Previous owner's name on front free end paper, with date, "4-13-74" Rest of interior clean and crisp.

Clear acetate wrapper provided by previous owner is showing wear but was probably instrumental in preventing wear through the years.
