A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Leckie's book is one on which the HBO series, 'The Pacific' is based. Book Club Edition 277 pp.Book has right lean and corner and spine end wear. Clean interior without marking. Page ends are slightly darkened with a little spotting. Dust jacket has been heavily tape repaired on spine and top of rear panel where 1-1/2" tear was taped. Spine has spotting and darkening. Chipping on bottom of spine edge. Corners have wear with chipping/tearing. White of dust jacket background shows some darkening at flap folds and some rubbing on rear panel and spotting on bottom edge of front panel. Now in protective cover.

Top page edge has very faint stain near binding, and bottom page edge has tiny ink mark. Hinge is a little loose, not unusual for thick books, such as this. Front free end paper has paper clip impression, and dedication page has small stain at top of page. Else clean and bright interior. Dust jacket has price intact and is clean and bright with edge creasing. Now in protective cover. Very nice copy.
