Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Front free end paper has 'Christmas, 1946' written in ink. Tanned paper but bright in appearance. Dust jacket is tattered and missing large pieces. What is left is contained in mylar protection. Even that is bright with the motif from the Mexican flag, eagle, snake and cactus.
