A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Dallas, Texas Universal Publishing Co. Hard Cover Very Good 4to - over 9" - 12" tall 
Listings with short biographical material and photo of men and women from Hill County, Texas, during World War II. Post war regional publication - no date given. "In Memoriam" page and "Dedication" page for those who lost their lives. Includes a letter to those who served from the Post Commander of the American Legion, one from Loy W. Harsfield, Pressident of Hillsboro College and Superintendent of School, as well as a letter from the Superintendent of Itasca, TX Public Schools. Not pageinated. White leather-like boards with blue tinge and American flag prominently on front board. Oversized format, 8-1/4"W X 11"H. Clean inside and out with hinges slightly loose and edges with light wear. Pages are tanned with age and have some minor creasing. Very nice commemorative piece.

Clean golden-tan cloth boards with red title block and red print on sign. Corners are bumped, and spine ends have some bumping. Also top front board edge has slight dent about 1" long. Bottom board edges have wear with cloth worn through on corners. Dust jacket has price intact shows rubbing wear, especially on spine which is somewhat faded and has chipping wear and loss about 1/2" across top. Bottom of spine also has a little chipping wear. Edges have creasing with a little tearing, and corners have some chipping loss as well. White of rear panel has soiling/spotting. Now in protective cover.
