A.C. Greene's 50+ Best Books on Texas

A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Well-illustrated study of unique painting in Texas. 117 pp. Oversize format, 9"W X 11-1/2"H. Bright and crisp copy with clean interior and light corner wear. Dust jacket is crisp and clean. Bottom edge has small strip of fading.

13 signatures on front free end paper and half-title page - Don Worcester, author of the text, and Elmer Kelton, who wrote the introduction. 11 of the 15 artists: Justin Wells, Jim Ward, Garland Weeks, Harold Holden, Richard Thompson, Mark Storm, Terrell O'Brien, Bob Tommey, Gerald Sanders, Bill Leftwich, and Jimmy Cox. Lovely reproductions of the finest of cowboy artists. 136 pp. Oblong format, 11" W X 10-1/4"H. Maroon-colored boards have cream-colored quarter binding. Clean and bright interior. Top edge of quarter-binding shows light foxing, as does top page edge. A few small faint spots on forward and bottom page edges. Dust jacket is bright with price intact. Top edge of nside of rear shows damp staining which shows faintly on outside and does not seem to have affected the rear board of book at all. From the library of former director of TCU press with a few inscriptions to her.
