A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Many pictures from previous reunions, participants, past presidents of the Clay County Pioneer Association, queens of the rodeos and reunions along with many advertisers from local businesses. A time capsule in brown and tan wrappers with photo of cabin and windmill on front cover. Stapled binding and unpageinated. Center pages have some slight warping on top margins. Very minor edge wear.

Dust jacket is orange with Beeler's illustration, a horse and rider with wild mustangs on front panel. Price remains. Minor edge wear. Tope edge has creasing and tearing/fraying. Corners have light chipping wear. Front has a few small smudges, and rear has a spot or two. Light rubbing on hinges and flap folds. Now in protective cover. A very nice signed copy of a Western classic.

Bottom page edge has light foxing - Clean and tight interior without marking of any kind. Dust jacket is bright with golden background - has price of $6.95 intact but penciled through. Corners have light wear, while spine ends have light creasing and wear. Hinges show slight rubbing wear. Light background of back panel shows a little dark rubbing and some red smears.
