A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". We at Texas Star Books try to keep copies from Greene's list on hand. Some are easier to find than others, so we may not have them all. To view his picks, click on the book title. Front cover has stamps and marking. Slight curling of cover and first few pages at corners. Some darkening to pages and a little staining on covers and page ends. Also a little foxing to pages. Tight and fairly well-preserved bit of military technological history.

Washington, D.C. War Department 1944 No Stated Edition Soft Cover Very Good 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall 
"Classification Canceled" label on front paper wrapper and "Confidential" stamp which has ben blacked out. Tight copy with creasing, spotting and corner curling. Spine has light rubbed spots. Page edges are soiled and spotting goes through to edges of margins on pages. Does not affect text block. Restricted stamp on title page, and the word "confidential" is blacked out in title on that page. Occasional creased page.

1st Ed., 1st Ptg. 329 pp. Tight copy with slight corner and spine end wear. Light page edge spotting/soiling. Previous owner's name and date on front pasted down paper. Dust jacket is bright with minor chipping on corners and spine ends. Spine is a little faded. Now in protective cover.

New York L. B. Fischer 1943 First Edition Cloth Very Good- Very Good- 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall 
Introduction by James Hilton. 259pp in this wartime book about Belgium's resistance to Nazi invasion. Burnt orange cloth boards have slight bumping to corners and spine ends. Front free title page has stamp of previous owner - else clean interior. Middle of book has weakening in the gutter between signatures. Dust jacket has creasing and tearing to bottom of front. Two 1" tears, one at front hinge and another about an inch toward center. Also a 1/2" tear at bottom of front fold. Back top edge has chipping and tearing, as do spine ends. Rubbing shows on burnt orange and yellow of dust jacket - especially on hinges and flap folds. Spine is sun-faded.
