A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". We at Texas Star Books try to keep copies from Greene's list on hand. Some are easier to find than others, so we may not have them all. To view his picks, click on the book title. Dust jacket has chipping on corners and spine ends. Creasing on edges with a few small tears. A few very small spots of rubbing show on the front cover.

Hinges are a little loose and pages are a little darkened, with light shelf-soiling on bottom page edges. Previous owner's bookplate is on half title page. Dust jacket has chipping, creasing and tearing, with several chips missing. Still, intact and now in protective cover. Good reading/reference copy.

Page edges have some light soiling/spotting, but interior is clean. Dust jacket has price intact and light edgewear. Front panel has substantial dark rubbing, while spine has some light rubbing. Rear panel shows light smudging, and both flap folds show a little rubbing wear. Both dust jackets now in protective cover.
