A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". We at Texas Star Books try to keep copies from Greene's list on hand. Some are easier to find than others, so we may not have them all. To view his picks, click on the book title. Light edgewear with bumping on corners and spine ends. Upper corner of front free end paper has ".50" in faded ink and title page has embossed seal of previous owner. Dust jacket has chipping on corners and spine ends. Creasing on edges with a few small tears. A few very small spots of rubbing show on the front cover.

Subtitled, "A Lambarene Landscape", book is written by an assistant to Dr. Albert Schweitzer in his humanitarian work in Africa at Lambarene. Franck was an artist as well as a dentist and has 40 drawings which add interest to this tale of an international hero and his selfless life. Book is Ex-Lib with usual markings, stamps and card pocket. It is tight and crisp. Dust jacket is in library plastic which has been taped to the boards of the book.

Opens to signature at page 100, where there is a small (coffee?) stain. Faint spotting on page edges. Dust jacket has chipping on corners and spine ends. Damp stain on inside of dust jacket spine does not show through to outside. Spotting and rubbing show on light portions and hinges.
