Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". "Memoirs that cover an exciting half-century of American Life", from before WWI to the Great Depression. Stated first edition. Book is tight with bright gilt on red-orange boards. Some edgewear and minor bumping. Pages are slightly yellowing. Dust jacket has bumping and soiling on edges. Spine has chipping and small torn area on top and bottom has 1/2" chip missing. Small tears along back dust jacket top and bottom edges.
