A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Tight copy with tan cloth boards which show three light damp stains on front board, also reflected on inside dust jacket. They do not affect front of jacket nor interior of book. Slight wear to corners and spine ends. Previous owner's name on front free end paper and a few instances of highlighting of text. Maroon glossy dust jackt shows some rubbing and wrinkling. Wear to folds and edges. A little chipping on edges and one tiny tear on top front edge.

Light brown boards have graphic of a spur, emblematic of the storied Spur Ranch, part of which was in Dickens County - also the town of Spur. Oversize format, 8-1/2" W X 11"H. 355 pp. Tight and clean copy has slight right lean. Light edgewear with slight rubbing on hinges and bottom edge. Bottom of spine has very minor fraying.
