A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Signed on paper opposite title page by Rex Strickland, author of Introduction and Notes; Tom Lea, artist; and Carl Hertzog, designer. Front free end paper has gift inscription to previous owner dated, 'Christmas, 1963'. 212 pp. Black cloth boards with gilt print and gilt owl on front board which is a little rubbed. Light corner and edge wear. Clean interior - forward page edge has a few small spots. Dust jacket is heavy weight paper with price intact. Hinges and rear flap fold have substantial rubbing wear. Corners and edges show light wear. Now in acrylic cover.
