A. C. Green has left us, but his love of Texas, its various parts, its history and literature lives through his bright and lively work. Greene, in his literate and plainspoken way, gave us the great gift of a guide to Texas literature in 1982, "The 50 Best Books on Texas" and in the 1998 revised version, The 50+ Best Books on Texas". Amelia Earhart's first book about her flight across the Atlantic in the Friendship -- the first successful such flight by a woman.314 pp. Many photos add interest to this fascinating book. The copyright page states, "This is a copy of the first edition". Maroon cloth boards are covered in clear acetate. Gilt lettering.bright on front board but spine shows gilt somewhat dulled andrubbed. Hinges and all edges show light rubbing wear. Clean text block. Pages open to signature occasionally. Front pastedown paper has an eraure, and front free end paper has rubbing on top margin. Nice copy.
